The Season of Summer Siestas is On! 

We’ve all been there, relaxing outside in a Muskoka chair, hammock or lounge chair and you get that feeling to close your eyes for a few minutes.  Naps can help us reset our systems, boost our energy levels and help us recover from a sleep shortage – returning to the day more focused and present.

Here are a few tips on how to ensure you’re getting all the power from your nap:

  • Take a shorter ‘power nap’ around 20 minutes.  This will help lower the chances of transitioning into a deep sleep, also known as a slow-wave sleep, which makes you groggy when you wake up.

  • Try to take your nap earlier in the afternoon to limit impact on your night’s sleep.

  • If you’re not napping in your bed and it happens to be outside – make sure you have shade so you don’t catch too much sun.

  • Comfort!  You’ll have an easier time falling asleep if you are comfortable.  For customized comfort, your new adjustable bed is the perfect way to elevate your power nap!
